Housing Authority approves financial certifications and CD signers update.
Housing Authority · Meeting of February 10, 2026
Easthampton Housing Authority approves FY25 financial certifications and updates CD signers. The board unanimously authorized the participation agreement for the state property insurance program and accepted bad debt write-offs totaling $17,077 from a January eviction. Accountant Michael Kane reported the authority's operating reserve stands at 69 percent, down from 93 percent, a position he characterized as healthier because excessive reserves risk triggering state subsidy reductions.
Public comment focused on maintenance delays in hot water repairs and disputes over snow removal coordination with the city Department of Public Works, prompting Chair Mary Church to suggest the Easthampton Tenant Organization develop collaborative solutions. Interim Executive Director Sharon Kimble reported 125 resumes submitted for the permanent Executive Director position, with hiring anticipated by April 1st.
