Easthampton School Committee increases virtual school enrollment cap. The committee voted unanimously on February 10 to raise the cap for Commonwealth Virtual Schools enrollment from 1 percent to 2 percent for the remainder of 2025-2026 and all of 2026-2027, according to Superintendent Michelle Balch. The committee also unanimously approved forfeiting $11,679.95 from graduated classes of 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022, transferring those funds to the EHS Student Activity Agency Account for future allocation.
The Class of 2017 was granted permission to donate their remaining $5,724.66 to a charitable organization or establish a bank account by June 1, 2026. The committee accepted a $6,955.30 donation from Chartwells Food Service designated to eliminate all accrued student lunch debt.
