Easthampton Finance Committee approves $3.3 million in appropriations. Chair Tom Peake and members Koni Denham and Jonathan Schmidt unanimously recommended $700,000 and $500,000 in transfers to stabilization funds, plus infrastructure investments of $200,000 for water meters, $150,000 for wastewater repairs, and $196,510 for water restoration. Public safety received $127,500; the committee unanimously recommended $262,250 in Community Preservation Act funding: $103,250 for Library Annex design and $150,000 to Valley Community Development Corporation for down payment assistance grants, the third such appropriation.
Items moving forward without formal recommendation included $5,000 for a Tax Collector position and $29,907.49 for computer disaster recovery, with minutes citing fiscal-crisis concerns; the committee reduced its own FY27 budget by $2,385.
