City Council reorganizes committees, votes against discrimination

Easthampton City Council approves anti-discrimination resolution. Vice-President Felicia Jadczak introduced the resolution, which passed unanimously, committing the City to reject discrimination based on race, color, class, religious creed, age, familial status, national origin, immigration status, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity or expression, disabilities, or veteran status. The Council also reorganized committees for 2026-2027, with President Koni Denham and Vice-President Jadczak occupying leadership roles, marking the first time women hold both the presidency and vice-presidency.

The Council appointed six committee chairs and unanimously voted to refer Affordable and Fair Housing Partnership zoning recommendations to a joint Planning Board public hearing.
