City Council approves $20,000 transfer for legal expenses

EASTHAMPTON — City Council approves $20,000 for legal expenses from budget adjustment. The Easthampton City Council voted unanimously to approve a $20,000 interdepartmental transfer to cover legal fees incurred in the current fiscal year after the city's legal budget was reduced in the prior year. The Council has incurred $22,518 in legal expenses to date with additional bills expected through June.
President Koni Denham announced the fiscal year 2027 City Council budget would request no increases, and the Council referred an eight-liquor-license request to the Rules and Government Relations Committee.
