Affordable & Fair Housing Partnership · Meeting of March 5, 2026

Easthampton housing and aquifer committees seek city funding for groundwater study. The Affordable and Fair Housing Partnership and Aquifer Protection Committee unanimously authorized Chair Janna Tetreault to request a $25,000 commitment from the city toward a two-year UMass Hydrogeology Lab study modeling groundwater impacts of proposed zoning changes, with an estimated total cost of $60,000 to $70,000. Patty Gamborini of the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission indicated she can secure up to $50,000 through a drinking-water MVP grant.

The study will include data discovery and public engagement with the Planning Department and Conservation Commission.
