Two housing committees jointly review zoning recommendations

EASTHAMPTON — Two housing committees jointly review zoning proposals intended to expand housing production. The Affordable and Fair Housing Partnership and Rent Study Committee, chaired by Janna Tetreault, discussed removal of the 18-unit building cap, mixed-use residential zoning, and duplex-by-right provisions. Planning Director Allyson Manuel reported the city is preparing an updated Housing Production Plan and will review open space residential development policy.
Committee members focused discussion on existing building constraints and design flexibility.
