Committees plan aquifer mapping project scope ahead of state grant deadline
Affordable & Fair Housing Partnership · Meeting of January 22, 2026
Easthampton committees plan aquifer mapping project scope ahead of March grant deadline. The Affordable and Fair Housing Partnership and Aquifer Protection Committee met jointly on January 22 to discuss recharge-area protection and identified gaps in mapping and water-demand data needed to inform proposed zoning changes. The committees agreed to develop a project scope for enhanced mapping that could be included in an MVP Grant on drinking water being written by Patty Gamborini of the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission; the grant is due March 20.
Janna Tetreault, chair of the Housing Partnership, along with Aquifer Committee member Bob Newton and Gamborini, will work on developing the project scope.
