City Council approves dog park design, refers housing task force

EASTHAMPTON — City Council advances housing policy work, approves dog park design funding. The council heard public testimony supporting a resolution that would establish a Housing Crisis Task Force to coordinate city, state, and tenant-advocate efforts on housing affordability; Councilor James Kwiecinski requested committee review, and the resolution was unanimously referred to the Rules Committee. In a separate action, the council unanimously approved a $23,500 Community Preservation Act appropriation for dog park design, with the Dog Park Committee matching the city funding from donations.
The council also unanimously extended the public hearing on short-term rental ordinance amendments to March 18, 2026.
