Property Committee refines RFP for town lodging house disposition

City Council - Property Committee · Meeting of February 25, 2026

EASTHAMPTON — City Council Property Committee refined the Request for Proposals for the town lodging house property, separating bundled evaluation factors into distinct scoring categories at the suggestion of Councilor Tom Peake. Chair JP Kwiecinski proposed adding a right of first refusal clause and requiring a city-appointed observer with attendance rights at the future operator's board meetings. City Procurement Officer Michael Owens will incorporate the feedback into a revised RFP for review at the committee's next meeting on March 16, 2026.

The committee confirmed it will evaluate proposals rather than a separate selection body appointed by the mayor.
