Easthampton BEES Committee votes to develop twin garden projects at Mill Pond. The Committee voted unanimously to create both a Girl Scout native plant and pollinator garden comprising 800 square feet and a separate memorial garden funded by opioid settlement money and featuring a gathering space with a bench. The memorial project has cleared the city Department of Public Works and Planning Department but remains in design phase.
The Committee also heard a proposal from the Renewal Initiative and Farm-Veteran Coalition to redevelop the Easthampton town farm and lodge for affordable housing and military veteran training.
