Easthampton Agricultural Commission backs veteran farm program. Russell Braen, chair, and the commission approved a letter of support for Renewal Initiatives' proposal to develop a two-year farmer training program for veterans on city-owned lodging house land. The project, in partnership with the Farmer Veterans Coalition, addresses affordable housing, agricultural preservation, and historical preservation.
A public hearing is scheduled for April, with the formal Request for Proposals process to follow in May.
