EASTHAMPTON — Agricultural Commission approves t-shirt design and outlines farmland conservation strategy. Chair Russell Braen and the five-member commission reviewed newly created inventory maps documenting 984 acres of protected farmland and 784 acres of unprotected farmland, with plans to conduct targeted outreach to private farmers and establish a protocol for receiving donations to fund Agricultural Preservation Restriction participation. The group voted unanimously to approve the t-shirt design and scheduled its next meeting for September 1 on a new bimonthly meeting schedule, with an intended invitation to the Mayor.
