Easthampton Retirement Board unanimously authorizes COLA increase authority up to 3 percent. Chair Donald Emerson led the meeting with all five board members present; Administrator Kymme Wood reported that PERAC has set the statutory maximum cost-of-living adjustment at 2.8 percent for the year, with the Board required to notify the legislative body of its ability to approve up to 3 percent. The Board also unanimously approved six new retirement system members, authorized Warrant 1 for $668,751.24, and cleared registration and travel expenses for board members attending the Massachusetts Retirement Board Conference in June; an IRS Revenue officer is expected to contact the Town Treasurer before March 20 regarding federal tax and interest matters spanning fiscal years 2020 through 2022.
