Public Safety Committee approves prior minutes, reviews quarterly department report

City Council - Public Safety Committee · Meeting of March 10, 2026

EASTHAMPTON — The Easthampton City Council Public Safety Committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and heard a quarterly overview from Department of Public Works Director Greg Nuttelman. The committee reviewed infrastructure priorities including the Glendale Bridge and Cottage Street pedestrian safety improvements, and identified vacant school buildings as sources of vandalism and financial strain. Nuttelman cited Tree Wardens budget increases and water meter investments as top funding priorities.

Members also discussed updates to the Traffic Rules and Orders document to address outdated department name references and inconsistent punctuation, and agreed that resolved West Street safety issues should be removed from the agenda.
