Public Safety Committee advances Hazard Mitigation Plan to full Council vote.

Easthampton Public Safety Committee unanimously recommends Hazard Mitigation Plan for full City Council vote. Chair Amanda Newton, Councilor Markee, and Councilor Schmidt voted to advance the plan on January 21, 2026, following discussion with Fire Chief Christopher Norris about plan contents, public dissemination, and minimal revisions over five years. The committee also reinstated quarterly departmental reviews rotating between Police, Fire, and DPW; agreed to edit Traffic Rules language; and scheduled monthly meetings for the first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m., with the next convening February 3, 2026.
