EASTHAMPTON — Nashawannuck Pond Committee backs five-thousand-dollar viewing platform repair match. The committee voted unanimously to contribute the amount toward an estimated twenty-thousand-dollar project, with a fifteen-thousand-dollar Community Preservation Act grant application pending April 16 review. The shoreline stabilization contract went to Saladino LLC of Vermont for sixty-nine thousand three hundred sixty-nine dollars and fifty-nine cents, below the engineering estimate and allowing adjusted cost-sharing.
Barley straw deployment is scheduled for April 18, with stake inspection planned for April 9. A twenty-five-hundred-dollar MCC grant for WinterFest was awarded in late September or early October 2026.
