Easthampton Board of Public Works backs MassWorks grant for Northampton Street water and sewer infrastructure. Board Chair Thomas Malsbury and Member Leya Strode signed a letter of support for the Fiscal Year 2027 grant application, which would fund infrastructure improvements supporting a mixed-use development with 256 housing units, including 37 affordable units, and new retail and commercial space. The city has already secured $959,000 in federal funding.
The board approved the April 15 meeting minutes and continued discussion of Enterprise Indirect Cost Allocation to May 20. Director Greg Nuttelman reported progress on the Fort Hill Road Paving and Bridge Deck Project, with a May 18 bid opening, the Water Department SCADA upgrade with contract award expected within two to three weeks, and the Main Street TIP Project with a May 14 design review scheduled with MassDOT.
