Manhan Rail Trail Committee · Meeting of April 13, 2026
EASTHAMPTON — Manhan Rail Trail Committee advances plans for May 17 Bike Week ride. Chair Barbara LaBombard reported that committee member John Losito secured mayoral approval for the community ride, set for 10:00 a.m. starting at Millside Park with a route to Coleman Road; Elizabeth Sturgen will coordinate with Northampton organizers, and LaBombard will arrange Parks Department access and refreshments. The committee delayed ordering trail etiquette signage pending City Council review of a proposed e-bike ordinance amendment.
Evan Garber provided website maintenance estimates of $285 annually or $1,500 to $2,000 for redesign, with Crawford and Sparacino tasked to explore hosting platforms. The trail has been selected as one of ten signature trails for the 2026 MassTrails 10 campaign.
