CPA Committee approves Library Annex schematic design application.

Community Preservation Act Committee · Meeting of February 19, 2026

EASTHAMPTON — CPA Committee moves forward on Library Annex schematic design application. The committee unanimously approved minutes and advanced the $94,250 Library Annex Design project, with a funding vote scheduled for March 12. Directors Lori Ingraham and Chuck McCullagh noted the design phase will clarify project phasing and confirmed the committee should learn by May whether an external grant succeeded.

The committee also embraced a proposed $55,000 Conservation Acquisition Fund within FY2027's $115,000 open space budget to cover pre-development costs like appraisals and expedite conservation acquisitions without repeated approvals. Committee Vice-Chair Dan Rist raised the possibility of repurposing the existing library building as a new home for the Historic Society.
