EASTHAMPTON — The Manhan Rail Trail Committee unanimously approved NaloxBox installation along the trail. Emma Reilly, a clinician with the city's Drug Addiction and Recovery Team, presented the proposal to install naloxone medication in boxes at the Union Street and Route 5 kiosks; additional NaloxBoxes are already distributed throughout Easthampton and monitored by DART and the Health Department. The committee also unanimously established a working subcommittee to investigate bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure concerns, with Lisa Ponce, Alexis Hosea-Abbott, Thomas Draudt, Evan Garber, and Holden Sparacino serving as volunteers.
The subcommittee will track pending projects affecting the trail, including a shared use path along Route 5 to Interstate 91.
