Easthampton launches fourth Municipal Leadership Academy
Easthampton announced the fourth annual Municipal Leadership Academy for winter 2027, open to residents 18 and older who are registered voters and pass a background check, with applications due Dec. 18, 2026.
The City of Easthampton announced Oct. 19 the launch of the fourth annual Municipal Leadership Academy for winter 2027.
The program is led by City Councilors Koni Denham, Tamara Smith and Felicia Jadczak, along with state Rep. Homar Gomez, in collaboration with the Mayor's Office. It is designed to give residents a behind-the-scenes look at how local government operates, including what department staff can and cannot do, while promoting transparency and civic engagement.
Participants will take part in hands-on sessions and open dialogue about city departments and the workings of Easthampton's public services, gaining insight into the challenges and successes that shape the community.
President Denham said in the release, "The Municipal Leadership Academy is a way to bring local government closer to the people it serves. It's a chance for residents to see how decisions are made, understand limitations, and be part of solutions."
The academy is open to Easthampton residents 18 and older who are registered voters and pass a background check. It is limited to 25 participants. Applicants must apply by 12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, 2026.
Residents can learn more and apply.
