Easthampton Launches Community Electricity Program to Expand Renewable Options

EASTHAMPTON — Easthampton officials announced Thursday the launch of a new Community Electricity program designed to give residents and businesses more options for their power supply, including greater access to renewable energy.

The city's News Flash service announced the Easthampton Community Electricity program on Thursday, describing it as a city-vetted alternative to Eversource's default electricity supply and to other third-party suppliers. The program is pitched to residents and businesses as a way to access more supply options along with a greater share of renewable energy, according to the town's announcement.

COMING UP

Easthampton's civic calendar is busy over the next week. The Conservation Commission and the Manhan Rail Trail Committee both meet Monday, August 24. On Tuesday, August 25, the Contributory Retirement Board, the City Council Ordinance Committee and the Community Relations Committee are all scheduled to convene. The City Council Property Committee follows on Wednesday, August 26.

The Easthampton Public Library has Technology Help sessions scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, and again on Wednesday, September 2.
