Cultural District Subcommittee advances summer events, explores district reapplication timeline.
Cultural District Subcommittee · Meeting of April 8, 2026
EASTHAMPTON — Cultural District Subcommittee greenlights May programming, addresses 2028 reapplication. Beats on the Boardwalk launches May 14 with a mix of artist submissions and curatorial selections; Mt. Holyoke College will fund an internship supporting the subcommittee.
The Mayor secured a grant for eight weeks of World Cup USA game screenings at Millside Park starting June 13. The subcommittee learned that Massachusetts Cultural Council district requirements allow flexibility and that reapplication is required in 2028, though funding confirmation is pending until August. The Sidewalk Strut (1 to 4 p.m.) will feature music, children's programming, a mini makers market, and Show Circus performers; an Art Walk follows 4 to 7 p.m.
